Alexandra-Maria-Lara
Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film popular for her work in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. As the sole daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into showbiz early and landed up playing lead roles in different television dramas by the time she was sixteen. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the film for television that she made Der Tunnel paved way for some other memorable roles such as the role of the secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge from the critically and commercially highly successful Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are other Oscar nominated movies featuring women. Alexandra is involved in many notable projects, in both the US and abroad. These projects include those of the British biographical Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time as well as French historic Miniseries Napoleon. Also, she was on the jury for the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
